Hotel placement in the Reception Department
Description
Your duties in the reception area are welcoming guests, handling the check in (computer registration) and providing information about the hotel’s services. You will also answer incoming calls and pass them on, inform the guests about the island, deal with hotel reservations, show hotel rooms and correspond with the guests. Furthermore you will translate documents into English and Spanish, pass on complaints, and fulfill the wishes of the guests. Moreover, you will learn about complaint management. You will receive complaints and suggestion from the hotel guests and have to pass them on to the appropriate head of department. As you become more experienced you will generate hotel bills, arrange checkouts of departing guests, make reservations, as well as other tasks.
You will work 40 hours per week with two days off. Accommodation and meals are provided by the hotel free of charge and you will get €150 pocket money per month.
Requirements
You are studying Tourism/Hotel Management, Business Studies, Communication Sciences or are studying a Foreign Language, Tourism Assistant, Hotel clerk etc and you are looking for an internship hotel Spain or a different location. If you decide to do an internship in the Reception Department, you should be very communicative and enjoy dealing with people, especially of different nationalities, you should have a friendly persona and neat appearance. Your English must be very good and you should know basic Spanish. For the internship vacancies on Malta and the Greek Islands, good English skills are sufficient.
